SMALL QUANTITY GENERATORS
Many businesses, through the course of their operations, produce hazardous waste. Small Quantity Generators (SQC) are businesses, regardless of size, that produce hazardous materials that can negatively impact the public and/or the environment. ECRC manages the Small Quantity Generator Assessment, Notification and Verification Program, and conducts inspections within Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Holmes, and Washington counties. ECRC inspectors conduct unannounced site visits in accordance with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (FDEP) Guidelines for Small Quantity Generator Inspection Programs.The purpose of the site visits is to conduct an inspection and gather information about the types and amounts of wastes generated and the methods used for waste storage and disposal in accordance with Sections 403.091, 403.7225 and 403.7234, 403.7226, and 403.7236.

Notice: Starting 2021, All Small Quantity Generators of hazardous waste are required to (Notify FDEP), i.e, complete Form 8700-12FL (found on FDEP's website) and to re-notify every 4 years.
