WALTON COUNTY
SHIP PROGRAM

For families with low to moderate income, there are several housing assistance strategies to help with replacement or rehabilitation. ECRC coordinates the SHIP program for Walton County.

For SHIP replacement homes in Walton County: Contact Habitat for Humanity- Walton County.

For First Time Home Buyers (FTHB), ECRC partners with Habitat for Humanity- Walton County. Any applicant purchasing a home through Habitat may receive up to $50,000 for their first home. The applicant must qualify with both Habitat and ECRC (SHIP) to receive the funding. Those applicants not purchasing their first home through Habitat, can call ECRC directly to see if funds are available for down payment.

The following strategies are available:

Substantial Rehabilitation: addresses homeowner needs such as roofing, electrical, plumbing, sanitary disposal, or structural deficiencies
First Time Homebuyer Assistance: provides funds to support down payment and/or closing costs for the purchase of a home
Replacement Housing: provides funds to underwrite the costs of constructing affordable replacement homes for families living in unsafe conditions
