ABOUT

The Emerald Coast Regional Council received a grant from the Office of Local Defense Community Cooperation’s (OLDCC) Military Installation Sustainability program for the development of a Military Installation Resilience Review (MIRR).  The purpose of the MIRR is to assist the Northwest Florida region assess, plan, prioritize, and implement resilience actions and projects to provide critical services and infrastructure to support and maintain mission assurance and mission-essential functions.

The Emerald Coast MIRR spans five counties, Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa, Walton, and Bay; and six key installations, Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola, NAS Whiting Field, Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), Hurlburt Field, Naval Support Activities (NSA) Panama City, and Tyndall AFB.

Over the past 24 months, ECRC and its consultant, Jacobs, have worked with the region’s installations and communities to complete the MIRR.  ECRC is happy to announce the completion of the Emerald Coast MIRR for Northwest Florida. The process identified over 50 resilience strategies, projects, and investments to promote mission resilience.  The full report can be found at the following link: Emerald Coast MIRRReport.  The StoryMap can be found at MIRR Story Map.
