PURPOSE:
To provide a resource for Escambia and Santa Rosa County citizens, planners, developers, and political leaders to establish and promote pedestrian and bicycle-friendly communities. This plan will update the TPO’s Pedestrian/Bicycle Master Plan by adding a Trail element.
FINAL RESULT:
Working with the working groups, planners, and the residents of Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, staff will summarize major pedestrian and bicycle trends, issues, needs, constraints, and opportunities within the TPO area into the Pedestrian, Bicycle & Trail Master Plan. The final document may include helpful data such as:
- Locations and types of facilities to be built
- Identify bike/ped/trail improvements along capacity projects in the TPO Cost Feasible Plan
- Strategies for improving pedestrian and bicycle safety
- A system for maintaining and managing current and future pedestrian and bicycle facilities
- Develop a list of prioritized projects for Pedestrian and Bicycle facilities.
- Develop a list of prioritized projects for Trail facilities.
