TranslateStatus of Roadway Capacity Projects in
Northwest Florida and Southwest Alabama
Many roadway capacity projects in northwest Florida have recently been completed, are underway, or are scheduled to commence construction in the next five years. In addition, four projects in southwestern Alabama are scheduled to begin construction in the next five years. The following is an overview of the Long Range Transportation Plans (LRTPs) for the Florida-Alabama, Okaloosa-Walton, and Bay County Transportation Planning Organizations (TPOs), the Florida Department of Transportation’s historical, existing, and tentative Work Programs, the Alabama Department of Transportation’s Work Program, and locally funded capacity projects.

Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization’s study area consists of the southern portions of Escambia and Santa Rosa County as well as portions of the Lillian and Orange Beach areas in Baldwin County, Alabama.
